Abstract

The 2008 financial crisis has caused great damage to the world economy. It has also posed a major challenge to the integrity of the international monetary system and put its sustainability into question. The financial crisis has made it possible for the international society to place the reform of the international monetary system on the agenda, although such reform takes time to achieve.
