Abstract

This research addresses implementing practice-oriented mathematics education for students within the sustainable development framework. Quality education is one of the sustainable development goals. In turn, mathematics is one of the key subjects contributing to personality development. Integrating subjects in mathematics education plays a significant role in achieving quality education. The research aims to demonstrate the need for changes in the mathematics curriculum based on practice-oriented learning. The main approaches to solving the problem of implementing mathematics education include a holistic approach, contextual learning, an integrative approach, critical thinking, and communication. These approaches are realized through integrating mathematics education, which enhances the mathematics learning process. Thus, practice-oriented learning is achieved by integrating subjects with mathematics, specifically applying mathematical models to solve professional tasks. The research also presents the results of student learning based on interdisciplinary integration, where the mathematics course takes a practice-oriented approach. To evaluate the effectiveness of the developed methodology in the educational process, the authors used mathematical statistics methods (mean, variance, and standard deviation) as indicators. The results obtained from integrating subjects make mathematics education more purposeful, meaningful, engaging, and practical for students. They also promote the development of interdisciplinary connections and comprehensive thinking.
