Abstract

This chapter explores the evolving landscape of Delhi’s healthcare system and its growing role as a hub for medical tourism, focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and financial innovations. By employing principal component analysis and principal component correlation, the study identifies key determinants of healthcare efficiency, such as infrastructure, emergency services, and healthcare funding, and examines their impact on the growth of medical tourism. The findings reveal that hospital capacity, doctor availability, and emergency response infrastructure are strongly correlated with the inflow of international patients. The chapter further highlights how AI technologies, ranging from diagnostic and robot-assisted surgeries to hospital management and telemedicine, are optimizing healthcare delivery and enhancing the medical tourism experience. Additionally, AI-driven financial models, insurance innovations, and fintech solutions are contributing to the sustainability and economic viability of Delhi’s medical tourism sector. The study concludes by emphasizing the need for strategic policy frameworks to ensure that technological and financial advancements benefit both international patients and the local population, positioning Delhi as a future-ready global healthcare destination.
