Abstract

In this chapter, we undertake to implement the Veil of Ignorance Project framework and procedure on the Canadian Constitution. However, for the whole exercise to further our knowledge of the making process of the Canadian Constitution, we need to bring together actual historical events as they are narrated by historians and the reconstituted story we got from analyzing power relations extracted from the constitutional texts. Accordingly, the structure of this chapter is as follows. In the first section, we cover the historical context of the drafting and adoption of the Canadian Constitution. In the second section, we analyze the Canadian Constitution in terms of power relations. A discussion section and a conclusion follow.
