Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Beschäftigung mit geometrischen Strukturen wie Figuren, Körpern und regelmäßigen Mustern gilt neben dem Zählen als Ursprung mathematischen Denkens. Innerhalb der Mathematik ist die Geometrie eine immer noch wesentliche Teildisziplin und außerdem eine der tragenden Säulen der Schulmathematik im Elementarbereich, der Grundschule und den beiden Sekundarstufen. Nach einer Unterscheidung von relationaler und deskriptiver Geometrie beschäftigt sich der Text mit dem Lehren und Lernen von Geometrie in historischer und curricularer Perspektive. Aspekte geometrischen Denkens (wie Raumvorstellung und räumliches Strukturieren, Begriffsbildung, Verwendung von Darstellungen, Problemlösen, Argumentieren und Beweisen und die Entwicklung geometrischen Denkens) werden detailliert behandelt. Vor einem abschließenden Fazit untersucht der Text noch die Rolle von Geometrie in der Visualisierung.
