Abstract

Zusammenfassung Schülerinnen und Schüler sind als Personen, aber auch als Lernende trotz vieler Gemeinsamkeiten sehr verschieden. Differenzierung im pädagogisch-didaktischen Verständnis versucht, dieser Verschiedenheit gerecht zu werden, zum einen indem sie ungleiche Lernvoraussetzungen in den Lernangeboten berücksichtigt und unterschiedliche Lernwege zu einem gemeinsamen Lernziel eröffnet, zum anderen indem sie die Verschiedenheit von Begabungen als einen Eigenwert versteht und fördert. In diesem Beitrag erfolgt eine Konzentration auf den Umgang mit unterschiedlichen mathematikbezogenen Lernvoraussetzungen im Mathematikunterricht, was auch als Binnendifferenzierung bezeichnet wird. Es werden strukturelle Differenzierungsaspekte zur Einordnung und zum Vergleich verschiedener Differenzierungskonzepte vorgestellt und exemplarisch Forschungsansätze insbesondere zur Entwicklung von differenzierenden Lehr- und Lernmaterialien im Rahmen einer „natürlichen Differenzierung“ diskutiert.
