Abstract

Zusammenfassung Mathematisches Argumentieren und seine spezifische Form des Beweisens sind unter verschiedenen Perspektiven zentrale Ziele und wesentliche Inhalte von Mathematikunterricht. In diesem Kapitel wird zunächst die Natur des mathematischen Beweises thematisiert. Anschließend werden unterschiedliche Beweiskulturen wie z.B. präformales und operatives Beweisen thematisiert, die sich herausbilden können, je nachdem, welche fachlichen Normen angelegt und welche Argumentationsbasis verwendet wird. Unter Heranziehung von Toulmins Argumentationstheorie wird die Beziehung von Beweisen und Argumentieren geklärt und es werden Entwicklungsdimensionen vorgestellt, die die individuelle Enkulturation in eine zunehmend mathematisch geprägte Argumentationskultur charakterisieren. Schließlich werden empirische Arbeiten zum Argumentieren aufgegriffen und Fragen hinsichtlich der individuellen Voraussetzungen für mathematisches Argumentieren sowie instruktionale Ansätze zur Förderung diskutiert. Abschließend formulieren wir offene Probleme in Forschung und Entwicklung.
