Abstract

ZusammenfassungDas Corporate Real Estate Management (CREM) ist weltweit sehr unterschiedlich gewachsen. Während in den USA und Großbritannien bereits in den 1980er-Jahren systematische Strategien, Benchmarks und Netzwerke etabliert wurden, gewann das Thema in Deutschland erst ab den 1990er-Jahren an Relevanz. Die Ursachen liegen in institutionellen, rechtlichen und kulturellen Unterschieden. Internationale Standards wie die von CoreNet Global oder die ISO-Normen (z. B. ISO 41001, ISO 55000) prägten früh eine global einheitliche Sprache, während deutsche Regionalbanken stärker auf interne Lösungen und lokale Besonderheiten fokussierten. Dieses Kapitel ordnet die internationale Entwicklung ein, zeigt Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten auf und erläutert, warum der Blick über die Grenzen für Genossenschaftsbanken und Sparkassen wichtig ist: Internationale Best Practices können Orientierung bieten, müssen jedoch an nationale Rahmenbedingungen angepasst werden. Internationale Perspektiven sind somit kein Selbstzweck, sondern ein Spiegel und Impuls für die Weiterentwicklung des CREM in Regionalbanken.
