Abstract

Zusammenfassung Eine der großen Herausforderungen des Mathematikunterrichts und der Mathematikdidaktik ist es, mathematische Aktivitäten so auszugestalten, dass sie mathematisch authentisch sind und Fragen und Vorstellungen der Schülerinnen und Schülern aufgreifen, wodurch sich ihnen die Sinnhaftigkeit der Mathematik zeigt. Eine Antwort auf diese Herausforderung ist Sinnstiftung durch Kontextorientierung. In diesem Verständnis fungiert ein Kontext nicht lediglich als nettes Eingangsbeispiel, sondern bietet über eine ganze Unterrichtseinheit eine tragfähige Rahmung. Der Artikel beschreibt zentrale Aspekte einer nachhaltigen Kontextorientierung über die beiden Unterrichtsphasen Erkunden und Ordnen hinweg und illustriert dies mit Beispielen aus unterschiedlichen Themenbereichen.
