Abstract

Zusammenfassung Taschenrechner und Computer sind – etwas verkürzt betrachtet – Maschinen, die in endlichen vielen Schritten mit endlich vielen Zahlen Berechnungen vornehmen. Daher liegt die Frage nahe, welche Rolle sie in der Analysis spielen können, in der es vor allem um infinitesimale Prozesse geht. Vor allem durch den nahezu flächendeckenden Einsatz von graphikfähigen Taschenrechnern in Bundesländern wie Nordrhein-Westfalen wird die Anwendung numerisch-arithmetischer Vorgehensweisen forciert. Ausgehend von einem Schulbuchbeispiel und numerischen Artefakten beim Einsatz von Taschenrechnern wird diskutiert, wie in einem allgemeinbildenden Mathematikunterricht numerischarithmetische Methoden im Verhältnis zu algebraisch-analytischen in Erscheinung treten sollten und warum eine Aufklärung der Vorgehensweisen der Taschenrechner im Sinne des White-Box/Black-Box-Prinzips in einem verstehensorientierten Unterricht unabdingbar ist.
