Reaktion auf Claus Peter Ortlieb – Eine mathematikdidaktische Sicht

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Reaktion aus mathematikdidaktischer Perspektive befasst sich mit der von Ortlieb vertretenen These, die Mathematik verdanke ihre Bedeutung in der Gesellschaft nicht nur dem unbestreitbaren Erfolg der mathematischen Naturwissenschaften, sondern auch dem unbegründeten „Glauben“, die Wirklichkeit selbst sei gesetzesförmig. Es wird skizziert, wie die zunehmende Bedeutung der Mathematik in der modernen Gesellschaft Ziele und Inhalte des gymnasialen Mathematikunterrichts zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts beeinflusste. Anschließend erfolgt ein kurzer Ausblick, inwiefern die von Ortlieb problematisierte fehlende Unterscheidung von mathematischem Modell und Wirklichkeit in der mathematikdidaktischen Diskussion aufgenommen wurde.
