Abstract

Zusammenfassung Mathematische Modellierung ist eine nicht immer für jeden sichtbare, aber prägende Schnittstelle zwischen Mathematik und außermathematischer Kultur. In einer Lehrveranstaltung zur Mathematischen Modellierung an der Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt wurde ein Reflexionsprozess bei Studierenden angestoßen, der als Brücke dienen kann zwischen theoretischem fachdidaktischen Wissen über die Relevanz von mathematischer Modellierung in der Gesellschaft und der praktischen Umsetzung im Unterrichtsalltag. Untersucht wurde, welche Rolle die Studierenden der mathematischen Modellierung als Teil der Mathematik zuschreiben, die die Gesellschaft mit prägt, und wie sich der Prozess des inhaltlichen Reflektierens der Studierenden äußerte.
