Abstract

Zusammenfassung Geometrie hat in deutschen Schulklassen eine Doppelfunktion: Einerseits geht es um die logische Analyse geometrischer Sachverhalte, andererseits ist Geometrie die „natürliche“ Analyse des uns umgebenden Raumes. Dieser Gegensatz wird aus historisch-genetischer, lern- und kognitionstheoretischer wie auch unterrichtlicher Perspektive entfaltet. Curriculare Fragen spielen ebenso eine Rolle wie aktuelle Entwicklungen des Einsatzes Dynamischer Geometrie-Software (also „neuer Technologien“), die zunehmende Bedeutung der Raumgeometrie und die Rolle geometrischer Begriffe für die Veranschaulichung (Visualisierung) außergeometrischer Sachverhalte. Auch internationale Entwicklungslinien zu einer Didaktik der Geometrie werden skizziert. Zum Abschluss werden Themen und damit verbundene Dichotomien benannt, die auch künftig eine didaktisch orientierte Beschäftigung mit der Geometrie und ihrer unterrichtlichen Realisierung lohnend machen.
