Abstract

The aerodynamic performance of hypersonic missiles can be improved effectively by assembling the arc wings. With considering the security of the missile, both the axial assembling angle and the leading edge of the wings are optimized based on the CFD computation and the Nelder-Mead method. The CFD analysis of the optimized and the original configuration show that the increase of the lift to drag ratio is 9.22%, the increase of the lift is 0.2%, and the reduction of the drag is 8.18%. Besides, the area of the wings is reduced 1.7% and the wingspan is reduced 7.66%. Moreover, the aerodynamic performance of the optimized configuration are analyzed at different Mach number with a cruise altitude of 35km. All the results demonstrate the good performance of the missile.
