The Effective Modulus of Particle Modified Polymer Composites with Imperfect Interface

Abstract

The prediction model of the effective elastic constants of polymer composites with imperfect interface is established by integrating three phase model with interface displacement jump assumption. The interface parameters are used to denote the imperfect degree of interface for polymer matrix composite. The theoretical prediction formulae of the effective bulk and shear moduli with interface parameters have been derived. The effective elastic constants of polymer composites are discussed when different interface parameters are chosen. The results of perfect and debonding interface (at two kinds of extremeness) are compared with that of using homogenization method, Mori-Tanaka method and other methods. The results show that the predicted models obtained in this paper have the generality and universality.
