Abstract

Numerous studies have proven that flexible working arrangements (FWAs) enhance quality of life. FWAs offer desired benefits in the modern era, gaining significant scholarly attention. Over 20 years (2000–2020), 6.5 million documents examined FWAs. This paper introduces a novel perspective by linking Maqasid Al-Shariah to achieving quality of life through FWAs. It compares Maqasid Al-Shariah to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Theory, emphasizing human needs and a high quality of life. This study contributes to FWAs literature, offering new insights and paving the way for future research on FWAs from the perspective of Maqasid Al-Shariah.
