Abstract

Current and conventional Waste Management worldwide lacks open declaration regarding data, quantity, type, ethical treatment, and reporting facts to regulators and researchers constantly working on such problems. This paper focuses on the Use of Blockchain technology in Waste Management. Such projects include Documentation, Cataloging, Certification, Tracking, and Tracing of Flows, Crystallization, and Automation of Processes to bring revelation to the world in managing and presenting accurate data. Because being nascent in terms of implementation, researchers depended on secondary data to highlight key areas of the success of Blockchain Technology usage in waste management. Blockchain can revolutionize sustainability reporting and assurance, enabling companies and municipalities to manage, demonstrate, and improve their performance while helping consumers and investors make more informed decisions. Blockchain technology provides numerous advantages for improving waste management, including increased efficiency, transparency, and sustainability when contrasted with conventional centralized systems. Nonetheless, it is crucial to consider scalability, compatibility with current infrastructure, and regulatory factors when integrating blockchain solutions into waste management practices. By implementing innovative measures, municipalities, and waste management stakeholders can effectively tackle interoperability, scalability, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder adoption challenges, paving the way for the successful integration of Blockchain in waste management systems.
