Abstract

Given the interesting switching behavior to the significant environmental impact of conventional motorcycles, transitioning to electric motorcycles (EMs) is critical. Despite government subsidies, the adoption rate remains low. This study investigates the role of government incentives in overcoming diffusion barriers to the adoption of electric motorcycles in Indonesia. Utilizing the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and Diffusion of Innovation (DOI) theory, this research examines determinants factors, attitudes, and intentions toward EMs. The study employs a comprehensive model integrating psychological and technical factors to explore the mediating role of consumer attitudes. The study suggests that despite government incentives positively impacting adoption intentions, psychological and technical factors play crucial roles in shaping consumer attitudes. Ultimately, the study aims to offer a research agenda that encourages further investigation.
