Abstract

This research investigates the mediating role of intra-team communication and remote leadership competency on the effectiveness of virtual IT service teams. As the IT sector increasingly adopts flexible and remote work arrangements, understanding the dynamics of virtual teams becomes more and more essential. The study employs a quantitative approach, utilizing a structured questionnaire distributed to IT professionals in Vietnam. The results reveal that remote leadership competency positively influences both intra-team communication and virtual team effectiveness. Furthermore, intra-team communication serves as a significant mediator in this relationship. These findings highlight the importance of developing remote leadership skills and fostering effective communication practices to enhance the performance of virtual teams. The implications of this research provide valuable insights for organizations aiming to optimize their remote work strategies and improve team outcomes in the digital age.
