Abstract

Although mindfulness is becoming acknowledged as a valuable practice in other areas, there is a lack of research on its effects on students’ career development and entrepreneurial mindset. The study aims at investigating a moderated mediation model that demonstrates the complex impacts of mindfulness on career development, entrepreneurship mindset, and work readiness among university students. The study employed a mixed-methods technique to collect data from a sample of 250 students who were currently enrolled in the Swinburne Alliance program in Vietnam. The technique consisted of a systematic survey supplemented by in-depth interviews with fifteen students who received mindfulness training and career development consulting from the school. The quantitative data were examined using the Hayes SPSS Process model to explore the connections and potential moderating impacts within the suggested mediation model. Simultaneously, qualitative data were examined using theme analysis to enhance comprehension of individual experiences and perceptions surrounding mindfulness and career preparedness. The results suggest that practicing mindfulness impacts career development outcomes and fortifies the entrepreneurial mindset and work readiness in students. The proposed model offers a comprehensive understanding of the interplay between mindfulness, career development, and entrepreneurship mindset that impact student readiness and confidence in achieving future work.
