Abstract

This study investigates how human-centric values, such as inclusive leadership, employee empowerment, and meaningful stakeholder collaboration, drive innovation and resilience in Vietnamese startups. Operating within a fast-growing yet resource-constrained entrepreneurial landscape, the research draws on both survey data and semi-structured interviews to capture the perspectives of founders and senior managers. Quantitative analysis, conducted using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), shows that human-centric practices positively influence innovation both directly and indirectly, primarily through enhanced organizational learning and adaptability. Qualitative insights add depth, illustrating how empowerment and shared decision-making cultivate creativity even when financial and operational resources are limited. The findings offer practical guidance for entrepreneurs, leaders, investors, and policymakers: fostering people-focused and learning-oriented cultures is vital for sustaining innovation and long-term success. Ultimately, the study demonstrates that when startups put people first, they lay the foundation for enduring growth within Vietnam’s dynamic startup ecosystem.
