Abstract
The limited scholarly interest in investigating the entrepreneurial aspirations of young generations has resulted in an inadequate understanding of the factors underlying their low entrepreneurial intention. This study aims to identify the factors that can enhance entrepreneurial intention among young people. The researchers hypothesized that entrepreneurial attitude orientation (EAO) and psychological capital (PC) are critical determinants in fostering entrepreneurial intention (EI). The study employed a sample of 185 final-year students from a private university in Bali, selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and path analysis with SPSS to test the hypotheses. The results revealed that EAO positively influences both PC and EI. Furthermore, PC was found to be a significant mediator in the relationship between EAO and EI. The findings underscore the pivotal role of EAO and PC in enhancing EI, with evidence indicating that PC is a stronger predictor of EI. The study offers novelty by highlights the mediating role of PC, showing that positive psychological capacities are stronger predictors of EI than EAO. This suggests that individuals’ positive psychological capacities exert a greater influence on entrepreneurial intention than their psychological characteristics.
