Empowering Energy Sustainability: Centurion University’s Commitment to SDG-7

Abstract

Clean energy sustainability is an important aspect of global efforts to combat climate change and achieve sustainable development, as depicted in Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG-7): Affordable and Clean Energy. The present study explores the initiatives undertaken by Centurion University of Technology and Management, Odisha, to integrate SDG-7 into its educational framework, fostering awareness and innovation in clean energy solutions through a case study approach. Through a combination of curriculum design, research projects, and community engagement, the university has established itself as a model for promoting clean energy sustainability. Key initiatives include the implementation of clean energy projects on campus, specialized academic programs on clean energy systems, and collaborative partnerships with local communities. These efforts have not only, enhanced students’ understanding of clean energy sustainability but also, contributed to regional development by providing clean energy solutions to underserved areas. The case study highlights the critical role educational institutions can play in achieving SDG-7 by empowering future leaders with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for a sustainable energy transition.
