Abstract

Food safety is become more and more valued by the public and the government. Due to a large number of stakeholders of food safety, it is very necessary for business managers and researchers to improve the quality of food from the perspective of food supply chain. Consequently, the study introduces the concept of supply chain quality management (SCQM) into the food safety management, taking SCQM as an important practice tool for quality control in order to achieve food safety. The paper develops the supply chain quality management (SCQM) models for food safety, and takes Yili as a case to verify the model. We propose a Quality-SCM framework that including supplier selection, supplier participation and QM practice in order to implement the quality control for the whole food supply chain.
