Abstract

After the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous enterprises found themselves compelled to formulate comprehensive visions and robust strategies to navigate through pervasive uncertainty. This study seeks to assess Hau Giang Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (DHG), a pharmaceutical company's response to uncertainty in its international strategy with specific changes and enhancements, to comprehend the factors creating a leader pharmaceutical company in Vietnam, and the ultilized strategies to access global market. To effectively align with DHG's overarching vision, a spectrum of strategic frameworks is recommended, encompassing export, global, transnational, and hybrid strategies, each meticulously tailored to ensure short-term, medium-term, long-term sustainable growth. SWOT and PESTLE analysis, alongside the latest reliable reports and statistics, a comprehensive evaluation of pharmaceutical markets is conducted to identify rational international strategies for various timeframes. The findings show that a strategic vision and international expansion emerge as a feasible approach for sustaining DHG's growth in a volatile environment through initiatives such as applied factories and production lines with global standards, localized distributions, leveraged innovations, and strategic partnerships. Furthermore, following the urgent demands of the global pharmaceutical industry and the internal company's capacity, four product segments, including the antibiotics group, antipyretic analgesic group (Hapacol), amoxicillin and clavulanic (Klamentin) group, and vitamin effervescent (Bocalex, Lipovitan series), are recommended to export in short-term and middle-term plans. Additionally, building global subsidiaries or distributors with health supplement and cosmetics products is considered an essential approach for a long-term plan. Moreover, the company's growth is predicted with an increasing revenue by achieving significant market shares in Asia, such as in India and Japan.
