Abstract

In recent years, the use of virtual environments in education has grown significantly, driven by advancements in metaverse and artificial intelligence. However, their adoption in STEM fields continues to face barriers related to user acceptability, accessibility, and interaction quality. This study analyzes key design elements that influence the acceptability of virtual educational environments. Through a comprehensive literature review, factors such as avatar personalization, expressiveness, and interaction optimization in digital environments are identified. An iterative validation model is proposed, in which students assess the environment’s effectiveness and its impact on learning. The results suggest that integrating interactive avatars and employing user-centered design can significantly enhance the educational experience in virtual environments.
