Abstract

In today’s increasingly dynamic environment, governments emphasise the need to create, develop and start-up growth inside innovation ecosystems, urging them to enhance their product, services and business innovation. This systematic literature review explores the relationship between start-up ecosystems and start-up performance, focusing on technological turbulence generated by artificial intelligence (AI) in product innovation. Using the Web of Science Core Collection, 92 articles were analysed through the “Six W” methodology (what, when, who, where, how, and why). The findings highlight the need for broader research perspectives, comprehensive methodological approaches, framework-robust development, and exploration of complex interrelationships. These insights are vital for understanding how start-up ecosystem integration can strengthen product innovation and improve start-up performance, particularly considering the technological turbulence.
