Abstract

Blockchain technology has emerged as a prominent solution to address challenges related to security, privacy, and interconnectivity across various applications involving interdependent actors. This includes green urban mobility initiatives, such as electric vehicles. However, the complexity of Blockchain creates a knowledge gap between developers and business experts, which can lead to ineffective solutions with limited innovation due to the misapplication of this technology. A key question arises: how can we assess whether Blockchain has been effectively applied? This exploratory study examines the development of a method for evaluating innovation in Blockchain-based business models for green urban mobility, aiming to categorize the technological maturity of solutions and assess their impacts. We propose and test a structured procedure and present directions for future research.
