Towards Intelligent Compliance: Progressing in Matters of Regulatory Compliance Through Intelligent Systems

Abstract

The continues advancements in regulatory environments and requirements for environmental responsibility present challenges to effectively and flexibly managing information systems. Therefore, this paper outlines the integration of Predictive Maintenance (PdM), Green IT policies, and compliance with the expert systems within the Lean House framework. The framework focuses on modularity and scalability as a response to the changing nature of regulation and variation of requirements for industries including but not limited to healthcare, aeronautics, and global IT. This research highlights various lacks including the implementation of predictive maintenance methodologies on IT services, the integrated compliance management tools, and the consistent approaches to sustainability, operation efficiency, and dynamic compliance. Building on the Lean Management approach, this research analyses Green IT, predictive maintenance, and compliance systems as mutually supporting strategic enablers of organisational effectiveness and sustainability. From the analysis of relevant literature, exploring the case studies from the relevant industries, this work offers the foundation for intelligent, self-aware systems that can achieve high availability and security and are compliant with regulatory requirements at a much lower carbon cost. This research generates insights into overcoming existing gaps between theory and practice that can enhance the design of scalable solutions to support organisations in addressing emerging compliance challenges and improving organisational performance and sustainability objectives.
