Abstract

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has led to a growing demand for AI servers, presenting both market opportunities and challenges in product development and environmental compliance. The high energy consumption of AI servers raises concerns about carbon emissions, driving companies to embed sustainability into their development processes. Employing a multiple-case study approach based on the Booz, Allen & Hamilton [1] NPD framework, this study examines green innovation strategies in AI server development through cases from Companies S, I, and F. Key findings underscore the integration of sustainability from ideation to commercialization, innovative testing methods, and collaborative customer engagement to align green product innovations with market needs. This research advances academic knowledge and offers managerial insights for sustainable AI server development.
