Abstract

The research investigates the impact of environmental management on perceived firm performance with evidence drawn from listed manufacturing companies in Sri Lanka. In the context of the modern global economy, environmental management plays a pivotal role in enhancing the sustainability and competitiveness of organizations. This emphasizes the significance of doing research on Sri Lanka’s listed manufacturing companies to determine how environmental management practices affect firm performance. To do this, data were collected using a structured questionnaire issued to 33 manufacturing businesses listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange. The obtained data was analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) approach. Environmental management techniques were di-vided into four dimensions: green products, green processes, green supply chain management, and green practices. Multiple criteria were used to assess perceived company performance, including financial performance, customer performance, internal process efficiency, and learning and growth. The study’s findings suggest that green supply chain management is significantly linked to enhancing the learning and growth of manufacturing firms, emphasizing its role in driving organizational development and competitiveness.
