Abstract

CULTURAD is a European-funded initiative aimed at enhancing cultural and creative practices to foster civic engagement and prevent youth radicalization. Implemented between November 2022 and October 2024 in Spain, Italy, Greece, and Cyprus, the project employs participatory action research and arts-based pedagogies to promote inclusion and active citizenship. This paper explores how CULTURAD’s methodologies, tools, and educational resources can be adapted to support inclusive innovation in tourism, particularly in marginalized communities. By reframing its cultural strategies through the lens of tourism management and digital heritage mediation, the paper proposes a transferable framework for destination planning, digital storytelling, and arts-led community regeneration. It contributes to the fields of cultural tourism policy, heritage interpretation, and creative placemaking, demonstrating how youth empowerment through the arts can advance both social cohesion and sustainable tourism development.
