Abstract

This paper develops a conceptual framework to explore how organizational routines influence the speed of internationalization in Albanian firms. Drawing on the organizational routines view and international entrepreneurship literature, it differentiates between simple and complex routines and investigates their effects on three dimensions of internationalization speed: earliness, depth, and geographic diversification. The study further considers how domestic environmental hostility may moderate these relationships. A future empirical study is proposed to test the conceptual model using survey-based data from internationalizing firms in emerging markets.
