Abstract

This work is dedicated to reviewing the literature and scientific evidence related to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer disease, suggesting acupuncture points and herbal therapy that may aid in its prevention/treatment. TCM offers a synergistic solution through its ancient therapies, such as acupuncture, phytotherapy (herbal medicine), Qi Gong, and Tai Chi, as well as dietetics and lifestyle practices. The bibliographic research indicates that the use of TCM in the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer disease is effective, and can offer a better quality of life for the elderly.
