Digitalization: New Regulations and Challenges for Start-Ups in the European Union

Abstract

With the Company Law Package and the Digitalization Directives, the EU legislator has introduced numerous innovations for digital start-ups in the EU. Companies can now be incorporated online without having to appear in person before a notary. Member states must ensure that these procedures are implemented nationally. Best practice examples have already been established in some EU countries, which serve as role models. Branches can be registered completely online. Companies can submit their documents and information online, which reduces the time and administrative burden.
