The scientific research presented in the paper has been dedicated to the analysis of the linguistic personalities of popular economic leaders, the American businessman E. Mask and the Russian billionaire V. Vekselberg. A special attention is paid to the leaders’ view on the sustainable development strategy, which is being considered from the motivational-pragmatic frame of reference. The methods applied during the study were as follows: the scientific observation method, the comparative method, the concept analysis method and the interpretive analysis method. The linguistic personality analysis showed that both economic leaders possess high-level management potential, being able to serve for the young generation as a successful model to follow. Their speech behavior interpretation, made on the basis of linguistic personality theory, proved the actuality of multipole approach to global economic and social issues decision regarded in the context of sustainable development strategy. It has been noted, that the manner of speaking and the choice of language means is determined by the cultural peculiarities the people possess. While the American leader’s speech, being highly emotional and clear is concentrated on the strategies of world-wide “bright future” achieving, the Russian leader’s speech is focused on the problems the young Russian leaders are bound to encounter on the way to success and is reserved and abundant of complex syntactical structures and special terminology. The research highlighted the necessity of further linguistic personality theory development to make it more adjusted to the current global processes demands regarded in the context of sustainable development.
