Abstract

The term AI has gained considerable currency over the last few years due to its ability to revolutionize the way things are done. Studies in AI implementation in public governance are far and few and the present study makes an attempt to empirically examine factors that impact privacy concerns of citizens and in turn impact their privacy disclosures. Data was collected from 714 respondents and results of the study indicated that awareness of implications and perceived risk have a positive impact on privacy concerns, and in turn privacy concern has a negative impact on self-disclosure accuracy and positive impact on self-disclosure concern. This paper is among the few empirical papers attempting to understand privacy issues of AI in public governance.
