Abstract

Music and technology may seem like two disparate fields, but their interdependence can be remarkable. Through the aid of computer machines, technology can facilitate musical endeavors in various ways. This paper aims to explore the literature on how technology can aid in learning to play music and contribute to the creation of music, through the use of different instruments that correspond to specific genres. The literature review is divided into several sections, the first being music information retrieval, which deals with audio processing and how music can be classified into different genres. The following section discusses how transformers can be used to create music, while the last part focuses on the latest trends in platforms that generate music.
