Abstract

Sustainability is a prosperous field of research for the agri-food supply chain domain. Agri-food supply chain management is currently focused in achieving higher performance of agri-food supply chains. At the same time, sustainability is being promoted as a factor affecting the total effectiveness of agri-food supply chains. The aim of this paper is to examine the practices followed by stakeholders in order to achieve the increase of sustainable performance in the agri-food supply chain domain and proposes ways to implement the existed technology in order to optimize the function of the agri-food supply chains by supporting a holistic framework towards sustainable and efficient agri-food supply chain systems.
