Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of the coverage of issues related to the financial services digitalization, including in rural areas for the period from 2017 to 2021, by the scientific community. The involvement in the field of digital financial services of both the population and business operating in rural areas is considered. Studies, the results of which were published in papers indexed both in Russian (RSCI) and international (Scopus and Web of Science) scientometric databases are analyzed. A grouping and systematization of such studies by country and by the degree of coverage of the designated topic (financial services, financial inclusion, financial services digitalization, including in rural areas) is carried out. The relationship between financial inclusion and the development of financial infrastructure is analyzed. A systematization of research areas of financial inclusion of rural areas in the context of digitalization is developed based on the topics and aspects of the study. At the same time, the available scientific papers pay little attention to the relationship between the digital financial inclusion development and the sustainable development of rural areas. There is especially little research on this issue in Russia.
