Abstract

In this paper the authors are making an overview of the Digital Markets evolution. The legal framework for e-commerce at the European level is introduced and the challenges and the evolution of one of the biggest digital platforms are discussed. The authors are focusing their work on Facebook as one of the well-known multisided digital platforms and the biggest social platform. Facebook acquisition campaign is analyzed in the context of competition on the digital market and several antitrust cases are enumerated. Final discussions are drawn in the Conclusions section.
