Abstract

In practice, production scheduling is part of the complex flow of information and decision-making that forms the manufacturing planning and control system. This decision-making systems perspective enhances our understanding of production scheduling. The chapter presents a systems methodology for improving production scheduling systems and describes techniques that can be used to represent production scheduling systems.
