Our hassle-free lifestyles and the shape of our cities and communities have been formed by the “liquid energy revolution” of the early twentieth century, which saw petroleum used for energy and raw materials, as well as by the Internet and the revolution in information technologyInformation technology of the late twentieth century. Undoubtedly, leaps in medicalMedical technology, such as the discovery of pathogenic bacteria and the invention of antibiotics, have greatly contributed to improvements in humanHuman health.
