Abstract

El patrimonio cultural inmaterial se integra por una amplia variedad de expresiones y manifestaciones culturales, que pueden ser puestas en valor con el propósito de conseguir articular nuevas alternativas de desarrollo, entre ellas la actividad turística. Apostar por la riqueza cultural de los grupos humanos como atractivos de interés turísticos ha resultado en la creación de diversos ejes a través de los cuales se desarrolla la relación patrimonio cultural y turismo. Con la finalidad de comprender cuál es la realidad del aprovechamiento del patrimonio cultural inmaterial en el sub-ámbito usos sociales, rituales y actos festivos, en la ciudad de Riobamba, se plantea el levantamiento de indicadores patrimoniales que plasmen de forma detallada la realidad existente. La metodología se centra en la identificación y aplicación de indicadores patrimoniales ajustados a las características del territorio. Entre los principales hallazgos de este estudio destaca que el aprovechamiento patrimonial es mínimo dentro de la ciudad, provocando que este sea poco valorado y transmitido entre las generaciones.
