Abstract

Regulation (EU) No 1094/2010 of 24 November 2010 (the EIOPA Regulation) establishes the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (the EIOPA), one of the three European Supervisory Authorities (the ESAs) of the European System of Financial Stability (the ESFS). The EIOPA supervises EU insurers, reinsurers and occupational pensions and helps to identify, assess, mitigate and manage risks and threats to the financial stability of the insurance, reinsurance and occupational pensions sectors.
