Abstract

This book is intended to help the reader learn about various issues involved in the global supply chain. Global supply chain management involves materials procurement, sourcing strategy and physical distribution. It should be examined from a strategy perspective, as it affects the competitive advantage of firms. At the same time, the environmental pollution and climate change which have resulted from industrial activities on a global scale in the 20th century have called into question the sustainability of current business practices in the 21st century. Global supply chain management has a major role to play in addressing the issue of sustainability in the years to come.
