Neue Chancen für Frauen? Zwischen Arbeit und Ehrenamt

Abstract

In den Diskussionen um das 'Ende der Arbeit' einerseits und den 'Um-/Abbau des Sozialstaates' andererseits gewinnen Überlegungen, die Ehrenamt, zivilgesellschaftlichem Engagement und Bürgerarbeit stärken wollen, an Stellenwert. In dem vorliegenden Band wird untersucht, inwieweit diese Vorstellungen für Frauen - und insbesondere für Frauen aus schwächeren sozialen Gruppen - einen möglichen und sinnvollen Ansatz darstellen. Dazu werden die entsprechenden Konzepte und ihre gesellschaftlichen Leitbilder hinterfragt, ihre genauen Konditionen und Wirkungen systematisiert und mit sekundäranalytischen empirischen Informationen über die Entwicklungen in den Bereichen Frauenerwerbstätigkeit, Familienarbeit, soziale Sicherung, ehrenamtliche Tätigkeiten konfrontiert. Im Vordergrund ist dabei die Herausarbeitung der frauenspezifischen Besonderheiten und der speziell für Frauen in schwächeren sozialen Lagen geltenden Beschränkungen in den Handlungsressourcen, die für eine 'Passung' dieser Konzepte mit der sozialen Realität nötig wären.
