Abstract

Der Konjunkturreport Einzelhandel stellt einmal pro Quartal wesentliche Konjunkturinformationen für den Einzelhandel bzw. Handel insgesamt zusammen. Eine laufende Konjunkturbeobachtung und -berichterstattung ist von hoher Relevanz, um den Handelsbetrieben sowie der interessierten Öffentlichkeit aktuelle Daten und Analysen liefern zu können. Der aktuelle Bericht zeigt, dass sich die Abkühlung der internationalen und heimischen Konjunktur auch im Einzelhandel widerspiegelt. Im April und Mai 2023 fiel der Geschäftsgang merklich gedämpft aus. Vor allem im Nichtnahrungsmittelbereich war die Umsatzentwicklung schwach. Auch Stimmungsindikatoren der Einzelhandelsunternehmen verschlechterten sich zuletzt. Die weiterhin hohen Preissteigerungen belasteten den privaten Konsum. Vorlaufindikatoren zeigen trotz leichter Verbesserung eine eher skeptische Stimmung unter den Konsument:innen.
