Abstract

This English Summary is a condensed version of the more than 250 pages long publication "Österreichs Außenwirtschaft 2008", which is published by the FIW ("Research Centre International Economics") for the second time, funded by the The Federal Ministry of Economics and Labour (BMWA). The publication covers numerous analyses and comprehensive data about the framework of world trade and about Austrian trade in goods and services as well as Austrian foreign direct investment. The main focus is set on the year 2007; futhermore an outlook for 2008 and 2009 is given. It covers also the financial crises.
