Die Freizeitmilliarden. Situation und Perspektiven von Tourismus und Freizeit in Österreich

Abstract

Forschung und Praxis stimmen darin überein, daß der Tourismus und die Nachfrage nach Aktivitätsfeldern für die Freizeitgestaltung ein wichtiges Wachstumspotential darstellen. Ursachen hiefür sind die steigenden Einkommen sowie die zunehmende Freizeit und ihre Höherbewertung; zusätzlich stimulieren die Öffnung Osteuropas sowie die von der deutsch-deutschen Wirtschafts-, Währungs- und Sozialunion und der Verwirklichung des EG-Binnenmarktes ausgehenden Effekte. Die Verlagerung der Konsumschwerpunkte im längerfristigen Entwicklungsprozeß gibt weitere Impulse für das Wachstum von Tourismus und Freizeit. Durch den Strukturwandel im privaten Konsum verschieben sich die Schwerpunkte nach der Sättigung der Grundbedürfnisse zu hochwertigen Gütern sowie zum Freizeitkonsum.
